The Tinubu Network Organisation (TNO) Osun State Chapter has raised several points criticizing the reappointment of Muheeba Dankaka as Federal Character Commission (FCC) chairperson.
However, their claims have been thoroughly debunked by the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Arewa Support Organisation (BATASO).
BATASO has lambasted TNO’s Osun State Chapter for their deceitful claims of principle, aimed at misleading President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over Dankaka’s appointment reversal.
According to BATASO, there is no internal arrangement in the Federal Character Commission that supersedes regional balance in terms of appointments of its Board Members.
Dr Muheebah Dankaka’s reappointment is a national affair, not an internal one, and regional balance favors her Reappointment being from the North.
This perspective emphasizes the importance of maintaining balance across different regions of Nigeria to ensure fairness and equity in appointments.
Moreover, BATASO argues that all odds to unify Nigeria favor the reappointment of Dr. Muheebah Dankaka from the North.
Given that one of the two agencies supervising recruitment in Nigeria—the Federal Civil Service Commission—is already headed by a Southerner,
Dr Dankaka’s reappointment would ensure that the North is represented at the helm of the Federal Character Commission.
This balance is crucial for promoting national unity and upholding the Federal Character Principle, which seeks to ensure that appointments reflect the diverse makeup of Nigeria.
BATASO also criticized TNO’s criticisms as being driven by sectional interests, particularly those of Oyetola’s cabal, which they claim is working to destabilize Nigeria’s unity.
According to BATASO, Oyetola’s actions are not surprising, given that he has made more enemies for President Tinubu in Osun State than friends.
They warned against bringing the division that cost the APC Osun State to the opposition parties at the national level.
Furthermore, BATASO reminded the Osun State Group that the majority of Northern states delivered more votes for Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election than the Southwest states, particularly Osun State.
This, they argue, underscores the importance of regional balance in appointments to reflect the political and demographic realities of Nigeria.
In light of these points, BATASO appealed for the reappointment of Dr. Muheebah Dankaka as the Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, citing the need for regional balance.
They suggested compensating the Osun state southern woman who may be affected with another appointment, ensuring a win-win situation for both parties while sustaining Nigeria’s unity.
BATASO reassured President Tinubu of their support for his reelection, emphasizing the need to balance the South/North dichotomy.
They stressed that the eight years that may be good for the North would also be beneficial for the South, and their ultimate goal is a united and better Nigeria.
“In Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we stand,” they declared, reaffirming their commitment to his leadership and vision for the country.
