••• State Party Chair, Prince Fagbemi Charges Members, Delegates to Drive Voter Registration Massively

The Kwara South Unity Group (KSUG) has formally met with the Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, to champion the ‘Igbomina Lokan’ mantra, advocating for the Igbomina bloc to produce the next Senator for Kwara South in the 2027 general elections.
The high-level meeting, which took place at the APC State Secretariat along Commissioner Way, Ilorin, on Saturday aimed at discussing strategic political matters concerning the senatorial district and seeking the party leadership’s guidance and support.
Leading the charge was the APC State Youth Leader, Hon. Lawal Sulaiman Duduyemi, who officially opened the meeting. He was joined by a formidable delegation from KSUG, including Kwara South State Executive Members, Kwara South Senatorial Executive Members, and all Central Working Committee Members from the seven local government areas in Kwara South, headed by their respective party chairmen.
During the meeting, Hon. Shuaib Rasheed, APC State Assistant Financial Secretary, officiated the opening prayers, while Engr. Tunde Fadipe, a former Chairman of Isin LGA, led the introduction of the Kwara South Unity Group’s delegates.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Engr. Jimoh Bayo Alao articulated the core motive behind the KSUG’s formation. He highlighted that the group, which brings together individuals from the Igbomina, Ibolo, and Ekiti blocs, was formed to ensure and propagate fair representation within the region.
“We are here to seek your guidance and to intimate you about the motive behind the formation of our group,” Alao said.
“The Ekiti bloc has already held the senatorial position for 12 years, and the Ibolo bloc is about to complete its 12th year. We are certain that the Igbomina bloc deserves to produce the next Senator for the sake of equity.”, He added.
On his part, Engr. Tunde Fadipe emphasized that the essence of politics is good governance and fair representation.
He expressed confidence that the APC is well-positioned for another “sweet victory” in 2027 and beyond, acknowledging the unprecedented performance of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“What we are doing now is ensuring a sweet victory for us both in 2027 and 2031 with the belief that Kwara South will produce the next Igbomina Bloc Senator with your support,” Fadipe stated.
Dr. Babatunde Salami also contributed, stressing the importance of unity. In unity, we prosper. We want to ensure that the arrangements work this way come 2027, and we are confident it will manifest with your support.
We want our brothers from the Ibolo and Ekiti blocs to support the ‘Igbomina Lokan’ mantra because one good turn deserves another, He said.
Speaking on behalf of the Ekiti bloc, Comrade John Agbenisi stated that No matter what a child sees when he stands up, he can never see what an elder sees when sitting down; that is why we are here to beseech your guidance.
As someone from the Ekiti Bloc, it is truly deserving that the Igbomina Bloc produces the next Senator in Kwara South come 2027 and this is what we’re clamouring for our group, KSUG.
Similarly, Hon. Aminat Folake Yusuf, former Chairman of Oke-Ero LGA, called for collective action, stating that the group is rallying for the success of the ‘Igbomina Lokan’ mantra, and this can only be possible with the support of the party’s Leadership.
“Let us collectively ensure that we secure the Senatorial seat for the Igbomina Bloc, while the Igbomina Bloc will honorably support the Ekiti Bloc and Ibolo Blocs in other ways as well.”, she added.
In his response, the APC State Party Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, commended the group for their organized approach and commitment to equity and unity within the party.
“It is commendable to have a group like this who are also members of our party championing a cause advocating for equity and unity,” he said while assuring the delegates that their message would be conveyed to the state leader of the party, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Prince Fagbemi also used the opportunity to charge KSUG delegates and party Members to mobilize people for the ongoing voters’ registration exercise, noting that election victory begins from mobilizing people to register for voters’ cards.
He expressed optimism about a flawless victory for the party in 2027, urging all party members to aggressively promote the achievements of President Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq at all levels of governance.
Hon. Lawal Sulaiman Duduyemi earlier in his remarks, lauded the state Party Chairman for the party’s unprecedented flawless electoral victory on two separate occasions, a historic feat in the state.
He attributed this success to the Chairman’s genuine commitment to nation-building and his support for the younger generation, which, he said, made the meeting with KSUG possible. He concluded by urging party executives to continue praying for the Chairman and the Governor for their commitments to the progress of the state.
