The newly formed Irepodun Women’s Wing of the Sardauna group has held its inaugural meeting, bringing together prominent women from across the Irepodun Local Government Area.
The gathering took place at the local government secretariat in Omu-Aran, marking a significant moment for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area.
The primary purpose of the meeting was to reaffirm the group’s unwavering loyalty to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and his administration’s achievements. The women’s wing pledged their full support for the governor and the party’s ideals, with the goal of ensuring the continuity and stability of his political legacy.
During the meeting, the leadership of the group charged its members to intensify their efforts in grassroots mobilization. They were also tasked with sanitizing their respective wards to ensure the APC maintains a strong foothold in Irepodun.
Speaking, Hon. Mrs. Temitope Abifarin Sanusi, the Local Government Coordinator for the Women for Sardauna Movement, expressed her gratitude to all who attended and participated while reiterating the group’s commitments to drive the core values and ideologies of the forum.
The Sardauna Geri Forum, which the women’s wing is part of takes its name from the traditional title of “Sardauna Geri of Ilorin” that was conferred upon the Kwara State Governor, HE AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The forum is seen as a strategic political movement aimed at building a lasting support base for the governor across Kwara State.
The inauguration was a high-profile event, attended by key figures including the Chairman of Irepodun Local Government, Hon. Azeez Yakub Tinuola, along with other executives, legislators, and party loyalists.
