President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Otunba Biodun Ajiboye for his exceptional commitment to re-orienting Nigerians on the need to return to our cultural values.
Tinubu who spoke while addressing Nigerians in Brazil during his recent state visit, said the frequent campaigns embarked upon by Otunba Ajiboye on TV programmes to project the role of culture in forming our identity, strengthening social relations and influencing human interactions will help to engender peace, development and progress of our dear country.
“I reflect Nigeria’s identity, and I want to thank you for being who you are and what you are for Nigeria. I could see the TV programmes that you embark on the campaign of our culture, diversity, peace, development and progress. I am a very proud Nigerian, and I believe you are a pride to our country”.
President Tinubu who reiterated that the bold endeavors embarked upon by his administration are aimed to reform and bring Nigeria to the forefront in Africa with a sense of dedication, commitment and transformation for generations yet unborn, said he is committed to develop the country.
“For us as leaders, it has been a very long journey, but we are a generation that cares with foresight, determination, commitment, and courage to change the history of our continent. I am proudly standing before you, making a commitment to all of you that Nigeria will be changed for the good of all of us and for the benefit and prosperity of all our citizens as we give priority to development”.
“Personally, I am challenged, and I am ready to work and bring the image of our country to the same level on the continent. Once upon a time, we can look back on the history we’ve had, knowing that Brazil and Nigeria are on the same level of development. Look at us today and look at Brazil, it is necessary for you to be challenged”
“We can do it because there is nothing, we set our minds to do that we cannot do. Look at the technological development of Brazil; look at their ability to achieve food sovereignty. Just imagine, what do they have that we don’t have?”
“What I want to do is to work hard. The transformation that is ongoing is for all of us and should be supported. Our reforms initially were extremely difficult for our people but just like any medication, it could be bitter to take initially but till you are healthy, you know the medication worked. For us, we can manufacture, develop, design and build a nation that works purposefully and prosperously for all of us”, he said.
