Babanla Palace Dismisses Rumours of Monarch’s Arrest, Says Oba Adegboyega Actively In Charge

The palace of the Oba of Babanla has dismissed recent rumors alleging the arrest of the royal father, Oba Aliyu Alabi Yusuf Adegboyega, clarifying that the monarch remains in his palace in Babanla, actively engaging with stakeholders to restore peace in the community.

This clarification follows heightened tension in Babanla and neighboring communities within Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, after a series of security breaches that have left residents unsettled.

Speaking on the development, the Esinkin of Babanla land, Chief Salami Ismaila, confirmed that the Kabiyesi was never arrested by any security operatives, contrary to widespread reports. Instead, the monarch has been working tirelessly with community leaders, the Local Government Council, and the Kwara State Government to ensure that perpetrators of the recent criminal activities are apprehended and brought to justice.

“The Kabiyesi has remained in Babanla, holding strategic meetings with relevant stakeholders and partnering with government agencies to restore calm and security to the area,” the palace stated.

The palace also expressed gratitude to the Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. Femi Yusuf; the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; and the Office of the National Security Adviser for their swift and proactive interventions during this challenging time.

The monarch further appealed to residents and stakeholders to come together in confronting the security challenges rather than politicizing the situation. “Security is a collective responsibility,” the source quoted him as saying. “Our priority is to ensure peace and stability return to our community.”

Security agencies have since commenced a thorough investigation into the recent attacks, with efforts underway to track and apprehend those responsible. Residents are urged to cooperate with law enforcement officers to facilitate the restoration of peace and justice in the affected areas.
