Senator Kalu Sends Three Abia North Students To China On Scholarship

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has announced that three students from Abia North Senatorial District have departed Nigeria to begin postgraduate studies in China, fully sponsored through a scholarship facilitated by the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation in partnership with the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC).

According to a statement from the senator’s office in Abuja, the scholarship covers full tuition, accommodation, health insurance, and monthly stipends throughout the duration of the recipients’ academic programs.

The beneficiaries are:

Sunny O. Idika, from Ohafor Ward, Ohafia LGA, admitted into the MBA program at Zhejiang Normal University, Jinhua.

Emmanuel Iheakachukwu Odoemelam, from Eziama Agbo Ward, Nneato, Umunneochi LGA, who will pursue a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT).

Kingsley Onwukwe Orji, from Igbere Ward A, Bende LGA, also enrolled in the MBA program at Zhejiang Normal University, Jinhua.

Senator Kalu expressed pride in the scholars and emphasized the importance of education in building future leaders and professionals who will contribute meaningfully to their communities and the country.

“I am delighted that these bright young men from Abia North are beginning a new academic journey in China.

“The Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation remains committed to providing access to quality education and international opportunities for our youth,” Kalu said.

The scholarship initiative is part of the senator’s broader efforts to support human capital development in Abia North through education, health, and empowerment programs.

The Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation has been actively involved in facilitating local and international scholarships, as well as humanitarian support across Nigeria.
