Kwara Coding Programme Shifts Gears for School Resumption, Eyes October Exhibition

The Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme is adjusting its schedule as it enters the final week of its summer session, preparing participants for the upcoming academic year and a highly anticipated project exhibition.

The programme, which has seen consistently strong attendance, concluded its fifth week with students demonstrating enhanced skills in Python programming and web development.

Building on previous weeks, participants showed growing confidence and creativity in their ability to handle more complex topics, including responsive web design and foundational Python data structures. This progress highlights the effectiveness of the curriculum and the students’ readiness for advanced learning.

To accommodate the formal resumption of the academic year on September 15, 2025, the programme revised its schedule for Week 6. Classes will now be held on Monday, September 8, and Tuesday, September 9, 2025, instead of the regular Monday-through-Thursday format.

This change ensures students, instructors, and partner schools have adequate time to prepare for the new school term.

The initiative continues to receive strong support from the state government, as evidenced by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s recent unscheduled visit to a training center. Ongoing monitoring by the Special Assistant on Digital Innovations, Hon. Ishola Kayode, has further boosted morale and institutional backing.

The programme’s momentum is now focused on its next major milestone: a Student Projects Exhibition scheduled for October. The event will serve as a platform for learners to showcase the innovations they have developed, providing a tangible demonstration of the skills acquired.

The success of this program underscores its role as a critical investment in the future of Kwara’s youth, providing them with essential digital skills that are aligned with global technological advancements.
