Guinness World Records (GWR) has announced that Nigerian chef and former record holder, Hilda Bassey aka Hilda Baci, has set a new record for the Largest Serving of Nigerian-Style Jollof Rice.
GWR confirmed Hilda’s latest culinary achievement in a Monday post on X.
The post read: “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria 🇳🇬.”
Hilda accomplished this feat on Saturday in collaboration with food brand Gino, where she successfully prepared 200 bags of Basmati rice with a giant pot in front of an excited crowd in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event attracted food enthusiasts, fans and notable personalities who came out to celebrate the historic achievement.
