The Hospitality Impact & Innovation Conference (HIT) 2.0 has officially announced His Royal Majesty, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo II, the Oloro of Oro Kingdom, as the Royal Father of the Day for its upcoming event on December 7, 2025, in Ilorin, Kwara State.
According to a statement issued by the team and made available to 9japarrot media, the confirmation came during a meeting between the monarch and the HIT 2.0 team, where Oba Oyatoye reaffirmed his commitment to leveraging cultural heritage, tourism, and hospitality as essential tools for national development.
Sharing insights from his recent international engagements, Oba Oyatoye highlighted the power of culture in shaping Nigeria’s global image.
“Through tourism, we can own our narrative, change negative perceptions, and amplify the positive stories already told.”, said the monarch.
He recounted his recent cultural exchange in Winnipeg, Canada, where he was recognized by high-ranking officials, including the Premier of Manitoba, Honourable Wab Kinew, and Deputy Premier Honourable Uzoma Asagwara.
The revered monarch stated that the experience proved that sharing Nigerian culture with pride commands respect, builds bridges, and inspires admiration across nations.
Ms. Folashade Folayan, Convener of HIT 2.0, expressed her enthusiasm for the monarch’s endorsement.
“His vision and global experiences reflect exactly what HIT 2.0 stands for—hospitality and tourism as powerful instruments of culture, prosperity, and legacy,” she said.
She added that the monarch endorsement strengthens their mission to convene voices that will shape policies, empower communities, and drive sustainable growth in Nigeria.
The organizers emphasized that the Oloro’s recognition confirmed HIT 2.0’s commitment to bridging traditional leadership with modern innovation to accelerate the growth and global competitiveness of Nigeria’s hospitality and tourism industry.
Professionals, policymakers, cultural leaders, and entrepreneurs are invited to join the conference, which is scheduled for December 7, 2025, in Ilorin.
