The Kwara State Government has approved Monday, October 6, 2025, as a public holiday for teachers across the state in honour of World Teachers’ Day.
The approval, which underscores the central role of teachers in nation-building, was contained in a statement signed and made available to 9japarrot media by the Honourable Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe.
Delivering Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s message, Dr. Olohungbebe paid a glowing tribute to the resilience, sacrifice, and devotion of teachers.
He described teachers as critical stakeholders in advancing human progress and national development, stating:
“Our teachers embody patience, sacrifice, and resilience. They nurture minds, shape futures, and drive society’s growth.
Today, Kwara salutes their labour of love, for without teachers, no profession exists.” He added.
