Hon. Shola Odetundun, Member representing Irepodun Constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, has joined millions around the world to celebrate the noble men and women whose dedication, knowledge, and sacrifice continue to shape the future of society.
In a statement issued in commemoration of World Teachers’ Day 2025 and made available to 9japarrot media, Hon. Odetundun described teachers as “the true nation builders whose tireless efforts remain the foundation upon which every profession and every successful society stands.”
He noted that this year’s celebration, themed “The Teachers We Need for the Education We Want”, is a timely reminder of the need to continually invest in teachers’ welfare, training, and professional growth.
“In Irepodun Constituency, Kwara State, and Nigeria at large, we owe our progress to the men and women who dedicate their lives to nurturing young minds,” Odetundun said.
He commended the efforts of teachers across Kwara State, especially those in rural communities who continue to teach under challenging conditions, calling them heroes of resilience and hope. He also praised the Kwara State Government under the leadership of Mallam Abdulrahma Abdulrazaq for its continuous support of educational reforms, prompt recruitment of teachers, training and retraining of teachers and other development programs, while urging for sustained investment to ensure that every child has access to quality education.
“As lawmakers, we must continue to create an environment where teachers are respected, well-trained, and adequately compensated. Our collective future depends on how well we treat those who teach,” he added.
The Chairman House Committee on Business Innovation, Industry and Women Affairs reaffirmed his commitment to supporting legislative measures that will enhance education quality and improve the welfare of teachers across the state.
He concluded by saluting all teachers in Irepodun Constituency and beyond, describing them as “torchbearers lighting the path to a brighter tomorrow.”
