Gov AbdulRazaq Honoured with Timeless Achievement Award At Kwara Youth Congress (KYC) International Summit

The 2025 Kwara Youth Congress (KYC) International Summit held at the NUJ Secretariat, Ilorin, brought together distinguished leaders, youth representatives, and development partners in a powerful convergence to discuss youth empowerment, innovation, and sustainable development in Kwara State.

The high point of the event was the presentation of the Timeless Achievement Award of Excellence to the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Executive Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, in recognition of his outstanding leadership, commitment to youth empowerment, and groundbreaking achievements in human capital and infrastructural development across the State.

The Award, presented by the leadership of the Kwara Youth Congress, was received on behalf of the Governor by the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development, who expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, describing it as a testament to the Governor’s continuous drive to create an enabling environment for young people to thrive.

Delivering the keynote address at the Summit, Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar (representing Kwara North Senatorial District and Chairman, Senate Committees on Trade and Investment as well as Rules and Business) underscored the importance of youth collaboration in governance and nation-building.

Represented by Alhaji Suleiman Ahmed Abbas, Assistant Controller General of Immigration (rtd.) and the Makama of Kaiama Emirate, Senator Sadiq commended the Governor’s visionary leadership, noting that his policies and programs have made Kwara a model for youth inclusion and development in Nigeria.

Themed “Building a Prosperous Future Through Youth Collaboration and Innovation,” the Summit featured panel discussions, policy sessions, goodwill messages, and the official launch of the Kwara Youth Agenda (2025–2030) alongside a Development Trust Fund—a strategic framework designed to drive sustainable youth-led solutions across the State.

In his address, the Convener of the Kwara Youth Congress (KYC), Hon Okanlawon Adebisi reiterated the organization’s mission to sustain a culture of active youth participation in governance and to foster a modern Kwara where young people are central to decision-making and development at all levels.

The 2025 edition of the KYC International Summit thus stands as a landmark gathering that celebrated excellence in leadership, reaffirmed commitment to youth advancement, and charted new pathways for inclusive growth and social transformation in Kwara State.
