••• Recognition for Service, Legislative Excellence and Community Development, Says Oloko of Oko Irese

The Oloko of Oko-Irese, Oba Victor Oluwafemi Olawuyi JP, and the Oloko-in-Council have bestowed the prestigious chieftaincy title of Otunba Asofin of Oko-Irese Land on Hon. Shola Odetundun, the distinguished Member representing Irepodun Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly.
The installation ceremony, held at the Comprehensive High School, Oko-Irese field, was a key part of the grand celebrations marking the 20th Anniversary of the Oloko of Oko-Irese on the throne.
The event attracted a host of dignitaries, traditional rulers, community leaders, and well-wishers from across Kwara State and beyond.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Oloko of Oko-Irese Oba Oluwafemi commended Hon. Odetundun for his unwavering commitment to community service, legislative excellence, and the advancement of Irepodun Constituency.
He described the new Otunba Asofin as “a shining example of purposeful leadership and a son deeply rooted in the values of service, justice, and humility”.
In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Shola Odetundun expressed profound gratitude to the Oloko-in-Council and the people of Oko-Irese for the honor.
“This recognition is not just a personal milestone, but a reminder of my continuing duty to serve with integrity and compassion. I dedicate this title to the good people of Irepodun Constituency and to everyone working tirelessly for a better Kwara,” he said.
The ceremony featured traditional rites, cultural performances, and goodwill messages from political colleagues, traditional institutions, and youth organizations who described the lawmaker’s elevation as a well-deserved honor.
