Senator Sadiq Umar Applauds Kwara Youths At KYC International Summit

••Delivers a message of Hope for Kwara’s sustained prosperity with Youths as strategic Partners under Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s Leadership

The 2025 Kwara Youth Congress (KYC) International Summit held on 15th October 2025 at the NUJ Secretariat, Ilorin, brought together youth leaders, policymakers, and critical Stakeholders to chart a forward-looking path for the development of Kwara State.

At the heart of the event was Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar (representing Kwara North Senatorial District and Chairman, Senate Committees on Trade and Investment as well as Rules and Business) who delivered the keynote address.

In his inspiring remarks delivered on his behalf by Alhaji Suleiman Ahmed Abbas, Assistant Controller General of Immigration (rtd.) and the Makama of Kaiama Emirate, Senator Sadiq urged the youths of Kwara to rise as collaborators in building a prosperous future for the State. He emphasized that youth inclusion, innovation, and civic participation are vital to sustaining the State’s development strides.

Senator Sadiq also used the platform to commend the Executive Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for his visionary leadership and commitment to youth empowerment and human capital development across the State. The Governor was specially recognized with the Timeless Achievement Award of Excellence by the Kwara Youth Congress for his outstanding leadership and unprecedented developmental achievements in the last six (6) years. The award was received on his behalf by the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development.

Reaffirming his dedication to youth and governance, Senator Sadiq reiterated his resolve to continue sponsoring and supporting quality legislation that fosters economic growth, job creation, and opportunities for the young people of Kwara and Nigeria at large.

The event featured engaging panel discussions, goodwill messages, keynote presentations, and the official launch of the Kwara Youth Agenda (2025–2030) alongside a Development Trust Fund designed to drive sustainable youth-led solutions across the State.

Through this International Summit, the Kwara Youth Congress (KYC) reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to building a modern, inclusive, and prosperous Kwara State, where the youths are at the center of policy formulation, implementation, and governance at all levels.
