Senator Kalu Urges Nigerians to Shun Crime, Fraudulent Activities

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has called on Nigerians to shun fraudulent activities, stressing that a history of fraud is unlikely to change once an individual enters public office.

In a viral video on Thursday, Kalu expressed deep concern over the prevalence of fraudulent activities, especially among politicians and civil servants.

The former Abia State Governor emphasized that individuals who were involved in fraudulent activities before assuming public office are unlikely to change their ways. He urged the Nigerian authorities to intensify the fight against crime and hold such individuals accountable.

Kalu also called on Nigerians to be vigilant and discerning when supporting political leaders, emphasizing the need to elect individuals dedicated to the welfare of the people with a track record of honesty and integrity.

“We need to be mindful of the type of characters we entrust with leadership positions and it is essential to elect individuals who are dedicated to the welfare of the people and who have a track record of honesty and integrity.” the lawmaker added.

The Senator specifically condemned fraudulent activities targeting foreign nationals, adding that anyone in politics or at the helm of affairs who engages in fraudulent activities, whether in South Africa or elsewhere, duping white people or any other individuals, must be held accountable.

Kalu commended President Bola Tinubu’s performance in governance, stating, President Bola Tinubu is doing wonderfully well in governance, praising his dedication to the welfare and socio-economic progress of the nation.

To address the need for better leadership, Kalu stressed the importance of active political participation, encouraging citizens to engage in the democratic process and exercise their right to vote.

He concluded by reinforcing the need for ethical conduct, integrity, and accountability in all spheres of public service, urging individuals of integrity to step forward and lead the nation to greater heights.
