••• Olupo of Ajase-Ipo Makes Historic Visit to Ijomu Oro, Hails Chief Raheem Adedoyin as a ‘Shining Light’

The Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ismail Yahya Alebiosu, made a remarkable and historic first-time visit to the soil of Ijomu Oro Kingdom on Monday, where he led dignitaries to the 25th Remembrance Special Prayer for the late revered Patriarch, Alhaji (Chief) Yesufu Adedoyin.

The solemn spiritual gathering, held at the Central Mosque, Ijomu Oro, was organized by the family of the late Chief Adedoyin, who was the first and immediate Oloriewe of Oro Kingdom and passed away on November 24, 2000.

Olupo who is also the Chairman of the Igbomina/Ekiti Traditional Rulers Council, described the late Patriarch as a man who lived a life worthy of emulation, adding that his exemplary qualities were evident in his son, Chief Raheem Adedoyin (the current Oloriewe).

He attributed the young Oloriewe as a key stakeholder in Kwara who has contributed immensely to the progress of the region, whom he said is a shining light and the star of Oro Kingdom and Kwara by extension.

Oba Ismail Alebiosu noted that Chief Raheem Adedoyin’s unique qualities made it even more easier for him to grace the solemn gathering, marking his first visit to the community.

The prayers were led by the Chief Imam of Ijomu-Oro, Sheikh Bashir Ibrahim.

In his brief sermon, the Chief Imam of Oro Kingdom, Sheikh Taofeeq Sanusi who was ably represented emphasized that it is permissible and honourable for Muslims to remember their late parents through prayers and alms-giving, especially when the deceased leaves behind indelible marks and legacies.

He described the late Alhaji (Chief) Yesufu Adedoyin as a respectable and highly loved community leader whose communal and religious impact transcended boundaries, acknowledging the Patriarch’s role in establishing the Ansarul Islam Grammar School, Ijomu-Oro, whose products are currently making waves globally.

In his tribute, Chief Raheem Adedoyin, former Kwara Commissioner for Information, described his late father as a highly respected community leader and bridge-builder, whose selflessness was loved across the entire Oro Kingdom.

“He certainly distinguished himself as a true son of Ijomu-Oro. He was loved not only by his people in Ijomu-Oro but across the entire Oro Kingdom for his selflessness and commitment to the growth, progress and development of the community and its people,” he said.

The large assemblage of dignitaries present was seen as a testament to the enduring influence of the Adedoyin family. They included; Oloro of Oro Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo II, Rt. Hon. Raheem Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin, Member representing Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, Hon. Shola Odetundun, Kwara House of Assembly Member (Irepodun),Retired Gen. Lasisi Abidoye, APC Chieftain, Irepodun LG Vice Chairwoman, Hon. Mrs. Abolude Funmilayo Rebecca, Irepodun LG APC Chairwoman, Hon. Kareem Rashidat, Prince Olanrewaju Shuaib SOFAB (Spokesperson, APC Irepodun Elders Caucus), Irepodun LG Council Secretary Shade Farmer, Prof Mukail Provost COED Oro, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Kwara Governor, Fafoluyi Yinka Solace, among others.

Also in attendnce are members of the 1978 set of Ansarul Islam Grammar School to which the younger Adedoyin (Chief Raheem Adedoyin Oloriewe) belonged, including; Alhaji Tunde Abdulraheem, Alhaji Opeloyeru and Mal. Ahmed Ibrahim.
