Mr. Peter Eze, an economist and public administrator, has expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu following his successful confirmation as Federal Character Commissioner representing Enugu State by the Nigeria Senate.
Announcing his successful confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as the Federal Commissioner representing Enugu State in the Federal Character Commission (FCC) in a terse statement obtained by 9japarrot media on Thursday, Peter Eze expressed profound gratitude and a firm commitment to the office, noting that his focus would be on delivering measurable results.

The confirmation, which took place during the Senate plenary presided over by Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio, followed his nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on August 11, 2025, and a successful screening on November 13. He was confirmed alongside 36 other nominees who will constitute the full board of the Commission.
“This appointment is not a title for decoration but a responsibility to fulfill. I am committed to exceeding expectations, driven not by rhetoric or political correctness, but by action, impact, and tangible results within and beyond the mandate of the office,” Eze stated.
The FCC is a federal executive body mandated to implement and enforce the Federal Character Principle, ensuring fairness and equity in the distribution of public posts and socio-economic infrastructure across Nigeria’s federating units.
Eze extended his sincere appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding him worthy of the national responsibility at a defining moment in the nation’s journey.
Similarly, he thanked Governor Peter Mbah for his vision and steadfast leadership in Enugu State, which continues to inspire his commitment to service.
The newly confirmed FCC Commissioner credited Senator Kalu’s unwavering guidance, encouragement, and belief in his capacity for shaping his growth in both private enterprise and public service.
He noted that Kalu’s commitment to uplifting the younger generation is a legacy he is privileged to uphold.
Peter Eze, who formerly served as the Executive Assistant to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and held the position of Executive Secretary of the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, now awaits his inauguration as the final phase before commencing his duties at the FCC.
