The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) held a successful Public–Private Dialogue (PPD) on the Nigerian Business Climate, bringing together key representatives from both the private and public sectors. The programme, organized by NACCIMA with the support of the KVP Nigeria project, provided a much-needed space for stakeholders to discuss reforms, challenges, and opportunities within the business environment.
The event opened with warm welcome remarks from Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, OON, mni, National President of NACCIMA, and Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, Director-General of PEBEC. Their messages reinforced the importance of strengthening the ease of doing business in Nigeria, and the need for evidence-based policymaking through the collaboration of the public and private sector.
The PPD featured a presentation on the NACCIMA Business Climate Survey (BCS) 2025 by Dr. Vincent Nwani, which offered clear insights into the realities businesses currently face across the country. An engaging Q&A session followed, allowing participants to seek clarity and share feedback based on the findings.
The DG of PEBEC also made a presentation on the progress of ongoing reforms, followed by another interactive Q&A. Participants then moved into a technical session focused on closing information gaps, sustaining the Business Climate Survey as an annual tool, and proposing actionable inputs for the NACCIMA–PEBEC Joint Working Group Workplan.
After a short break, the gathering reconvened for the presentation and adoption of the PPD Communiqué, which captured the commitments and action points agreed upon to strengthen the business environment.
The event wrapped up with closing remarks from Mr. Sherif Olaleye, Project Manager of the KVP Project Nigeria, and a vote of thanks from the NACCIMA Director-General, Engr. Olusola Obadimu.
In summary, the PPD provided a productive and engaging platform for deepening partnerships, aligning priorities, and advancing reforms aimed at improving Nigeria’s business climate. The communiqué from the event will be shared shortly.
