•• Urges adaption of AI to Avoid Irrelevance

The Kwara State Government has emphasized the urgent need for individuals and the state to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital literacy, warning that any society that fails to adapt to AI risks irrelevance in the modern global economy.
This call was made by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Mal. Lawal Olohungbebe, at a free training workshop titled “AI Automation at Work” organized and sponsored by Digprom International Limited in Ilorin on Saturday.
Mal. Lawal Olohungbebe, who was represented by Mrs. Oludare Victoria Olawumi, Director of Human Capital Development, stated that technology is no longer a mere sector but the backbone of every sector.

He noted that AI automation and data-driven thinking are rapidly changing how nations educate their people, how businesses create value, and how governments deliver essential services.
He commended Digprom International for its commitment to innovation and human capital development, noting that the vision behind the gathering aligns strongly with the state government’s priority to become a leader in digital literacy and an AI hub in Nigeria.
In his opening remarks, the Chief Operating Officer of Digprom International, Honourable Ayobami Dumoye, congratulated participants for making the final selection stage, noting that the program is part of the organization’s corporate responsibility to help professionals meet up with AI trends and support the state’s collaborative efforts.


Dumoye added that the workshop is necessary for every profession, including civil servants, teachers, engineers, and doctors to better their performance.
“I’m optimistic that this workshop will go along in sharpening your understanding of Artificial intelligence and I can assure you that if you make use of the knowledge judiciously, it will better your productivity in your profession.” He said.
The Special Assistant on Digital Innovation to the Kwara Governor, Hon. Ishola Kayode, in his remarks highlighted Kwara’s rising profile in the tech ecosystem.


He referenced Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, the co-founder of Andela and Flutterwave Africa’s two biggest tech unicorns, noting that the spotlight is now on Kwara.
Hon. Kayode also pointed out that Ilorin was recently nominated as the sixth startup city in Nigeria, underscoring the success of local startups like Credlock, which is raising significant funds using AI to address loan repayment challenges.
Participants were taught practical skills, including how to use AI tools to automate daily tasks, save time and costs, increase productivity, build simple automations, and even create a business website in minutes.
One of the facilitators, Merit Lawal who is an AI Researcher urged participants to embrace the knowledge gained to keep up with the realities of AI in content, marketing, and business growth.

Another facilitator, Mr. Gbolahan Adegoke (Software Engineer), taught participants on No-Code Automations, Full Stack AI Apps, and the future of work, cautioning that while AI won’t take over human duties, digital literacy is pertinent for all who wish to excel.

Abdulkareem Abdulkareem) and the Director of Business Innovation and Technology, Agboola R. Fatimah, concluded with the presentation of certificates to participants.
