Ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Saturday visited ex-President Goodluck Jonathan at his residence in Abuja.
The meeting is their first since Jonathan’s return from an election observation mission in Guinea-Bissau.
Posting pictures of their encounter on his verified social media handles on Sunday, Atiku wrote, “It was a pleasure catching up with former President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday evening, following his recent return from Guinea-Bissau.”
Jonathan, who served as president from 2010 to 2015, lost his reelection bid in 2015 to Muhammadu Buhari.

The visit follows Atiku’s official defection to the African Democratic Congress.
He joined the ADC after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party, citing claims that the party had deviated from the principles of its founding fathers.
There are indications that Atiku may emerge as the ADC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
