Senator Sadiq Congratulates Team Kwara On International Debate Triumph

Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar, representing Kwara North Senatorial District, has congratulated the brilliant students of Kwara State for emerging champions at the 2025 Asia Parliamentary International Debate Competition (Junior Secondary School Category) held in Malaysia. The victory, which featured participants from 16 countries across Asia, Africa, and Europe, marks yet another historic milestone for Kwara’s public education system and Nigeria at large.

Senator Sadiq described the achievement as “a powerful testament to the excellence, discipline, and intellectual strength of our young learners.” He commended the students for their exceptional performance, noting that their brilliance has once again placed Kwara State and Nigeria on the global stage for academic distinction.

He further expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for his unwavering commitment to the reform and advancement of basic education across the state. The Lawmaker stated that the Governor’s sustained investment in the education sector continues to yield remarkable results, inspiring learners and repositioning Kwara as a leader in academic innovation and competitiveness.

Sen. Sadiq also extended hearty commendations to the leadership and staff of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (Kwara SUBEB), especially its Chairman, Professor Sheu Raheem Adaramaja, alongside the dedicated parents, coaches and technical team. He acknowledged their relentless commitment, hard work, and mentorship which prepared the students for excellence and made this international victory possible.

He urged the young champions to continue striving for greatness, assuring them of his continued support for initiatives that promote quality education, youth development, and global competitiveness.

He reiterated that this achievement is not just a win for the debate team, but a collective victory for Kwara State and a renewed call to keep investing in the dreams and potential of young people.
