The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh (Dr.) Muhammad Bashir Soliu, has commended Senator Saliu Mustapha for facilitating the installation of a multi-million naira solar-powered mini-grid system at the Ilorin Central Mosque.
The Imam, who gave the commendation while inspecting the project alongside the Senator and other religious leaders in Ilorin, described the Solar system as a significant contribution to the development of the mosque and the comfort of worshippers.
He noted that the mosque has been spending a huge amount on electricity to maintain its day-to-day operations.
Sheikh Bashir applauded Senator Mustapha for prioritising community development and identifying projects that directly support religious institutions.
He prayed that Allah would grant Senator Mustapha success in all his endeavors and elevate him to higher positions where he can continue to serve the people.
Worshippers and religious leaders present during the inspection also expressed appreciation for the intervention, noting that the solar-powered system will reduce the mosque’s dependence on the national grid and lower operational costs.
The project, which provides a reliable and sustainable source of electricity for the Central Mosque and the Emir’s place, is expected to enhance daily activities, improve energy efficiency, and ensure uninterrupted power during prayers and religious events.
