••• Professor Shola Solomon Emerges National President, Vows to Enhance Visibility and Support Young Alumni
Members of FUT Minna Alumni Association converged on Minna for their biennial National Delegate Conference which took place between 4th to 5th December 2025 at both Bosso and Gidan kwano campuses of the University.
Participants were drawn from all the inaugurated chapters of the Association.
At the end of the election, Professor Shola Gabriel Solomon emerged as the New Alumni National President. He succeeded Alhaji Dr Abubakar Isah Kimpa whose four year tenure came to an end.
Professor Shola Solomon is a staff of Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, he graduated in the year 1991 and obtained his Ph.D from the same University in 2007.
Prof. Shola’s administration will focus on enhancing the association’s visibility, supporting young alumni in their careers, and improving fundraising strategies with input from financial experts and former executives.
He encouraged greater contributions from individual chapter members.
Immediate past President, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Isah Kimpa, highlighted key achievements, including the renovation of a lecture theater, donation of beds to the school clinic, inauguration of new chapters, and annual renewal of the university’s Zoom license among others. He urged the new executive to uphold the alumni’s values and serve diligently.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kuta, ably represented by the Director of Advancement, Prof. Idris Nda lauded the alumni for their continued support, noting it has motivated students to excel and inspired the school community.
Newly elected Secretary-General, Dr. Medayese, pledged to work closely with executive members to strengthen unity nationwide.
The Electoral Committee Chairman, Prof. Muhammed Jiya, described the election as peaceful and transparent, confirming all accredited delegates cast valid votes.
The elected executive members received their certificates of return.
