
The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Senator Saliu Mustapha, has sponsored a bill seeking to establish a Federal Agricultural Extension and Innovation Centre.
The Senator, in a post via his official Facebook page, stated that the bill titled Federal Agricultural Extension and Innovation Centre (Establishment) Bill, 2025 (SB. 984), has successfully passed its First Reading during the plenary session on Wednesday.
According to the post, the proposed legislation is aimed at strengthening agricultural development in Nigeria by improving agricultural extension services, supporting farmers, and promoting innovation within the agricultural sector.
The bill will proceed to its Second Reading, where its general principles and merits will be thoroughly examined by lawmakers.
Senator Mustapha expressed confidence in the bill’s prospects and noted that he looks forward to constructive engagements with his colleagues to ensure the successful passage of the legislation.
