The event recorded full participation from Ahun Ward, Erin-Ile North Ward, Erin-Ile South Ward, Igosun Ward, Ijagbo Ward, Ipe Ward, and Ira Ward, as party executives, ward leaders, youths, women groups, and grassroots mobilizers converged in large numbers, reflecting unity and strong political coordination within the APC in Oyun LGA.
Prominent APC stakeholders, community leaders, and government dignitaries from across Kwara State were in attendance, underscoring Hon. Samson ILUFOYE’s growing political relevance and grassroots influence.
Among notable participants was the Oyun Local Government Chairman, Engr. Kamar Akanji, who commended Hon. Samson ILUFOYE for organizing the event. In his remarks, he emphasized the efforts of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to develop the local government from the grassroots, noting that such initiatives make party activities more effective at the community level. He further encouraged party members to continue supporting the good work of the governor.
Also present were Alhaji Sodiq Hammed, former Vice Chairman of Oyun Local Government, and Hon. Prince Tunji Bello, APC Majority Leader. Speaking on the significance of the gathering, they noted that the programme was designed for the entire Erinle community and Oyun Local Government at large, irrespective of political affiliation.
According to them, “This programme is meant for the people of Erinle and Oyun Local Government without discrimination. However, Hon. JCSam is a strong grassroots member of the APC, and that explains why the party naturally took the lead in attendance.”
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Erinle Chapter (CANO), Ojo, charged APC members and political leaders to commit themselves to nation-building and social justice. He urged the party to remain conscious of the people who entrusted them with power, noting that governance is seasonal.
In his words, “APC must build a nation where no one is oppressed. The APC should remember the majority of the people who voted them into office. There is time for everything; this is their time, and it will not last forever.”
The event also witnessed the presence of the Senior Adviser on Urban Markets, Hon. Rasidat Olateju, whose attendance further added to the profile of the gathering. Cultural colour was added through a vibrant dance performance by Erin-Ile Hairdressers’ Apprentices, showcasing local talent and cultural identity.
Earlier, a ward member from Erin-Ile South described the gathering as timely and unifying, saying, “This is the kind of leadership we have been praying for one that listens to the grassroots and brings everyone together.”
