
Today during the budget defence of MDAs under the House Committee on Business, Innovation, Industry and Women Affairs, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Olushola Odetundun, described the exercise as a critical component of the Assembly’s legislative oversight function.
The Chairman noted that the process is aimed at promoting transparency, strengthening fiscal discipline, and ensuring the effective implementation of programmes and policies that will drive economic growth, industrial development, innovation, and women empowerment across Kwara State.
The lawmaker, who represents Irepodun Constituency, reaffirmed the committee’s unwavering commitment to a thorough, objective, and constructive scrutiny of all budget submissions.
According to him, “this process is essential to ensuring that public funds are judiciously allocated and that budgetary provisions are properly aligned with the developmental priorities of the state and the aspirations of its people.”
He further emphasized that the House Committee remains resolute in its responsibility to support policies and initiatives that will deliver sustainable development, inclusive growth, and tangible benefits to citizens across Kwara State.
