Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar (representing Kwara North Senatorial District) has continued his constituency tour in Baruten Local Government Area, as part of a routine engagement he has consistently adopted to interact with his people, assess community needs, and receive firsthand feedback on governance and development. The tour commenced earlier in Kaiama and Moro Local Government Areas.
In Baruten, the tour began with a courtesy visit to the Emir of Ilesha-Baruba, His Royal Highness, Prof. Halidu Abubakar Derekeru IV, where the Senator was warmly received. The Emir, alongside the Emirs of Gwanara, Okuta and Yashikira, commended Senator Umar for his notable strides and impactful representation in Kwara North, describing his efforts as a source of pride to the people. From the palace, the Senator inspected ongoing and completed projects within the emirate and later met with party members and agents in charge of party membership registration, urging constituents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively register as party members.
Senator Sadiq thereafter proceeded to the Gwanara Emirate, where he paid homage to the Emir of Gwanara, His Royal Highness, Alh (Dr.) Abdullahi Sabi Idris (OFR) Kotokotogi II, inspected projects, and engaged party stakeholders and registration agents, reiterating the importance of civic participation through PVC collection and party membership.
The lawmaker also visited Okuta Emirate, following the same pattern of engagements. The Emir of Okuta, His Royal Highness Alh. (Hon.) Idris Shero Abubakar Sherobetete Kperogi Afon III, praised the Senator’s commitment to grassroots development and inclusive representation, while party members were encouraged to remain united and mobilised.
The two-day tour concluded in Yashikira, where Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Yashikira, His Royal Highness, Alh. Umar Usman Sariki Sabikpassi II. The Senator thereafter engaged party stakeholders and members at the newly constructed Yashikira Townhall, a project facilitated by him to enhance community engagement. During the interaction, he reiterated the importance of unity, sustained mobilisation, and active political participation among party members.
Across all points of engagement, Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar highlighted the numerous projects and interventions by both the Federal government and Kwara State Government and canvassed continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, stressing the need for collective backing to sustain development, stability, and good governance at both the national and state levels.
The constituency tour reaffirms Senator Sadiq Umar’s people-oriented leadership, respect for traditional institutions, and unwavering commitment to grassroots engagement and democratic consolidation across Baruten LGA and Kwara North Senatorial District at large.
