Lagos Assembly confirms Oshodi as Sports Trust Fund Board Chairman

The Lagos State House of Assembly has approved the appointment of Wahid Enitan Oshodi as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Lagos State Sports Trust Fund.

The confirmation followed the submission of a screening report by the Chairman of the ad-hoc Committee, Fatai Mojeed, who supervised the exercise in compliance with Sections 106 and 192 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

Presenting the report, Mojeed explained that the committee evaluated the nominee’s credentials, conduct, responses to questions, and overall presentation during the screening process.

He said lawmakers engaged Oshodi on various issues, all of which he addressed convincingly.

According to the committee chairman, a review of past appointments to the position and Oshodi’s professional background showed that he met the required standards for the role.

The committee, therefore, unanimously recommended the former Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development for confirmation.

The House subsequently adopted the committee’s report and ratified Oshodi’s appointment.

Following the decision, the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, directed the Clerk, Mr Olalekan Onafeko, to transmit the resolution of the Assembly to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for further action.
