
The Fadunmade family of Oro in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State has expressed profound gratitude to political leaders, organisations, community groups and individuals who supported them during the death and burial of their matriarch, Hon. Mrs. Elizabeth Funmilayo Fadunmade (JP).
In a statement issued in Oro and made available to journalists, the family disclosed that the late grandmother, mother and sister passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026.
The family specifically appreciated the former President of the 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON); the Kwara State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Issa Bawa; the PDP State Women Leader; PDP State Legal Adviser; Kwara South Senatorial Women Leader; PDP State Youth Leader; PDP State Publicity Secretary; Engr. Kale Kawu (Dan Iya); Prof. Murtala Awodun; Chief Joseph Gbenga Obanla; Otunba Olabode Oyedepo (Deway); Hon. Ebun Owolabi; Hon. Sikirat Anako; Hon. Segilola Abdulkadir; Hon. Goke Bamidele; Hon. David Bamidele (Jagunmolu of Oko); Hon. Matthew Babaoye; and Hon. Harry Ilori.

The family also gave special recognition to those who were physically present and provided medical and personal care to the deceased in her final moments, particularly Dr. Christopher Obafemi Shorun; staff of Tolulope Yetlock Clinic and Maternity; Hajia Rasheedat Yusuf; Mrs. Yemisi Abifarin; Mr. Ahmed Abdulrasheed (Pilot); and Prof. Wale Suleiman.
According to the family, the prayers, visits, calls, financial assistance and moral support received during the mourning period were a source of strength and comfort.
They prayed that God would bless all supporters abundantly, replenish their kindness and grant them long life, good health and peace, while wishing the soul of the departed eternal rest.
