Mutfwang Swears in six Plateau High Court Judges

Governor Caleb Mutfwang on Friday swore in six newly appointed judges of the Plateau State High Court.

Addressing the judges at the swearing in ceremony in Jos, the governor urged them to conduct themselves with the highest standards of integrity, noting that their appointments were made in strict compliance with constitutional provisions and duly approved by the National Judicial Commission.

Mutfwang described the judiciary as the “last hope of the common man,” stressing that its credibility is central to public confidence in the justice system.

He said the ceremony represented a major step toward strengthening the rule of law, justice and democratic governance in Plateau State.

According to the governor, the elevation of the judges was a recognition of their years of dedication, competence and proven integrity at both the Bar and the Bench.

He charged them to dispense justice without fear or favour, guided solely by the Constitution and their conscience, noting that their decisions would have lasting impact on lives and democratic institutions.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to judicial independence and impartiality, pledging to improve infrastructure, welfare and reforms within available resources to ensure efficient and timely delivery of justice.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the newly sworn-in judges are Maikai Andrawus, Kparbong Nanman, Nkwap Ngummai, Mantu Ishaku, Bature Musa and Mallan Mangai.
