
Pharm. (Mrs.) Judith Ngozi Udeh has emerged as the Pharmanews Personality of the Month for January 2026, following deliberations by the editorial board of the health-focused publication in recognition of her contributions to pharmaceutical practice, public health innovation and healthcare leadership.
Udeh was identified by Pharmanews as a suitable candidate for the recognition based on her professional track record, leadership roles and sustained impact within Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
She is the Principal Manager (Marketing) and Founder/Head of the Hospital and Institutional Business Unit at Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited, Lagos.
She also serves as the initiator and Project Liaison Manager of the Geneith Health Competition, a youth-focused public health innovation platform, and is the Founder of the Empathy in Healthcare Dialogue Movement, which advocates compassionate and patient-centred healthcare delivery.
A native of Enugu State, Pharm. Udeh holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Demography and Population Studies as well as a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
She has received specialised training in Applied Field Epidemiology and Project Management, holds an MBA in International Business Management, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) in Project Management with a focus on Supply Chain Management at Lagos State University. She is also a Certified Project Manager (CPM).
With over 18 years of professional experience, Udeh has built a career spanning pharmaceutical manufacturing, strategic marketing, hospital and institutional business development, regulatory affairs, clinical research and healthcare innovation. She has worked with organisations such as Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited, Nemel Pharmaceuticals Limited, RichyGold International, Nino Pharmaceuticals and Chemical Company Limited, among others.
Her professional experience includes involvement in pharmaceutical product manufacturing and launches, coordination of hospital and institutional engagements, regulatory compliance processes, management of medical representative teams, as well as the supervision of clinical and public health projects.
Beyond corporate practice, Pharm. Udeh has contributed to healthcare research and policy dialogue, participating in studies across Sub-Saharan Africa on latent tuberculosis among youth, maternal health, risky sexual behaviour, demographic trends and disease prevalence. She has also mentored postgraduate students in Biostatistics and Research Methodology.
In 2025, her leadership and social impact earned her several recognitions, including the Leadership Peace Award of Excellence from the Coalition of Nigerian Women Forum for Peace and Good Governance; the Sir Ahmadu Bello Platinum Leadership Award from the Council of Northern Youth Advocate of Nigeria (CNYAN); the Transformative Leadership Award from the Youth Coalition for Education in Nigeria (YOCEN); and the NAUS Platinum Iconic Woman of the Year Award from the National Association of University Students.
