••• NALDA Boss to Lead Strategic Reclamation of Farmlands, Youth-Driven Commercial Estates in Kwara South

The Omo Ibile Igbomina; a renowned social-cultural organisation has officially appointed the Executive Secretary and CEO of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), Engr. Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo, FNSE, as the Chairman of the Agriculture Revival Sub-Committee for the 2026–2030 Igbomina Transformation Agenda.
The appointment, conveyed in a letter co-signed by the National President, Sir Bisi Fakayode, and the Secretary-General, Dr. Babatunde Salami, tasks Engr. Adebayo with leading a high-powered team of traditional rulers, local government chairmen, and agricultural experts to “rescue, revitalize, and rebuild” Igbomina Land through modern agriculture.
The sub-committee is central to the 2026–2030 Transformation Agenda, specifically charged with the responsibility of implementing an agricultural revival plan. The explicit objective is to ensure the optimal utilization of vast arable lands in Igbomina and transform them into viable commercial agricultural estates.
According to the organization, the key responsibilities will cut across assisting in the effort to reclaim bushes and forest areas currently occupied illegally by bandits in Igbomina Land, pursuing a land conversion strategy to turn empty, dormant lands into productive and monitored agricultural activity zones, conceiving Sustainable Community Agricultural Estates built on youth-driven structures, including the integration of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and Transforming vulnerable areas into secure, economically active zones through consistent agricultural activity.
Engr. Adebayo will lead a committee that bridges the gap between technical expertise, traditional authority, and local governance. The committee is tasked with developing a model for Community-Investor Joint Ventures (CIJV) to attract large-scale commercial farming clusters to the region.
The High powered Sub-Committee will be Co-chair by the Oloro and Paramount Ruler of Oro Kingdom, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo II as the Traditional Ruler Representative
Other members are;
Chairmen of Ifelodun, Irepodun, and Isin Local Government Areas, Technical Experts including a team of five agricultural experts, including Hajia Muibat Bukola Olagunju, Pastor Benjamin Adekeye, and Dr. Sunday Atanda, representatives from Community Development Associations (CDAs) across the three primary LGAs.
The committee’s work is anchored on three major strategic pillars which are highlighted as follows;
Capacity Building: Training interested youth in cluster farming and agric-business to ensure self-reliance and job creation.
State Support: Formally requesting state and federal interventions for rural agricultural enterprises to boost food security.
Heritage & Safety: Pursuing the vision of an Igbomina Land where heritage thrives and safety is guaranteed through sustainable socioeconomic development.
