
His Royal Majesty, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo II, the Oloro and Paramount Ruler of Oro Kingdom, has officially constituted a three-member Interim Committee to steer the affairs of the Oro Descendants Union (ODU), in a bid towards institutional reform and community growth.
According to the statement issued through the palace media and made available to 9japarrot on Tuesday, the royal intervention is designed to revamp and modernize the operations of the Kingdom’s apex sociocultural association, ensuring it is better equipped to drive the 21st-century development goals of the Oro people.
The newly appointed members, selected for their proven track record and dedication to the Kingdom, are:
Prince M.D. Oyerogba (Okerimi Oro) – Chairman
Sir M.A. Oyeyipo (Iludun Oro) – Secretary and
Mr. Ismail Akoshile (Okeola Oro) – Public Relations Officer (PRO)
The statement further noted that the committee is charged with the responsibility of overseeing a seamless administrative transition. Their core mandate includes: Running the association in the interim and safeguarding its heritage, Paving the way for the emergence of a new executive team comprising popular, well-connected & impeccable individuals to form the nucleus of the union and Organizing the landmark Annual General Meeting (AGM), slated for the first week of April 2026 at Iddo Oro, which will serve as the launchpad for a new leadership era.
Oba Oyatoye expressed his firm belief that the initiative will usher in a period of unprecedented progress, urging all stakeholders to support the committee in their mission to build a more formidable ODU that serves as a beacon of unity and development for the entire Kingdom.
