Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Redeems ₦500,000 Pledge to Kwara United F.C

••• Commends Gov. AbdulRazaq’s Support for Sports

Engr. Adeyemi, Board Member of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), has fulfilled his ₦500,000 pledge to Kwara United F.C. following the team’s 1–1 draw against Kano Pillars F.C. last Sunday.

The financial support, delivered as promised, aims to boost the morale of the players and technical crew as the club continues its battle to retain its Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) status. The team was promised 1 million Naira if they won. Unfortunately, the game ended in a draw. Given that the team gave maximum effort and fought gallantly, a 500 thousand cash reward was then promised to them after the game during a locker room speech to the team as a way to motivate them.

Engr. Adeyemi, a staunch supporter of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, stated that his gesture is intended to complement His Excellency’s sustained investment and commitment to sports development in the state, particularly football.

According to him, “The Harmony Boys are our pride. We must rally behind them to sustain their league status. Supporting the team is also in alignment with the Governor’s vision of strengthening sports as a tool for youth engagement, unity, and state pride.”

He emphasized that the present administration has continued to demonstrate leadership in repositioning sports infrastructure and encouraging excellence across sectors, noting that stakeholders must collectively reinforce these efforts.

Engr. Adeyemi further called on supporters and football enthusiasts across Kwara State to come out en masse to cheer the team to victory in their next fixture.

Kwara United F.C. will host Rivers United F.C. on Wednesday at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl in an outstanding NPFL Matchday 22 encounter. A victory in the crucial tie would significantly improve the club’s standing as the season progresses.

Engr. Adeyemi reaffirmed his continued support for initiatives that promote youth development, community pride, and sustainable growth through sports in Kwara State.
