Ramadan: Intensify Prayers Against Banditry, Senator Mustapha Urges Muslims

The Turaki of Ilorin, Senator Saliu Mustapha has called on Muslims to use the spiritual significance of Ramadan to pray fervently for peace and security, urging collective action through faith to confront the growing threats of banditry and kidnapping in Kwara State and across Nigeria.

The senator, who represents Kwara Central in the National Assembly, made the appeal in a Ramadan message issued by his media assistant, Nasif Sholagberu, to felicitate with the Muslim Ummah on the commencement of the holy month.

He stressed that Ramadan offers a critical opportunity for spiritual renewal and national reflection, noting that the discipline of fasting symbolizes inner purification and moral rebirth.

According to him, sustained prayers and unity among citizens are vital to overcoming the country’s security and social challenges.

Senator Mustapha encouraged Muslims to draw closer to the core teachings of Islam by promoting compassion, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among people of different religious and ethnic backgrounds.

He also urged the faithful to remain steadfast in their devotion and to pray for Nigeria’s leaders, seeking divine wisdom and guidance for them in tackling the nation’s pressing issues.

The lawmaker congratulated Muslims in his constituency and nationwide on the start of this year’s Ramadan fast, praying that Almighty Allaah grants them mercy, guidance, and abundant blessings, and accepts their fasting and supplications throughout the holy month.
