••• Distributes Ramadan Packages to Party Stakeholders, Forums During Official Visit
A leading voice of the 2019 Otoge movement, Hon. Abdulrasheed Akogun (Shoboi) has officially declared his intention to represent the Oke-Ode/Share State Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly ahead the forthcoming 2027 general election.
Addressing APC executives, stakeholders, and youth groups at his ancestral ward, Oke-Ode Ward 1 on Saturday, Akogun highlighted a decade-long marginalization of the ward, noting that it has been over 10 years since the area produced a representative for the state assembly.
In a passionate declaration speech, Akogun traced his political journey back to the Otoge revolution which brought in the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, emphasizing that despite his previous unsuccessful bid for the same office, his loyalty to the party and community has never wavered.
He added that his 3-Point propellant for the 2027 Race are God’s Plan, his belief that the timing is divinely ordained, Party Arrangements (aligning with the APC’s internal structures and grassroots needs) which he believes would favour his ward, and the People’s Hunger, addressing the urgent demand for a qualified, vocal, and community-driven representative.
“I have remained committed to this party and community without being particular about immediate gains. God’s time is best, and with your support, our dream for Oke-Ode/Share will be actualized.” He added.
In his remarks, APC Oke-Ode Ward 1 Chairman, Hon. Kareem Abolarin, described Akogun as a good ambassador who possesses the intellectual and social capacity to deliver the constituency’s mandate.
He noted that himself and all the party excos are ready to support his candidacy and ensure he secured the party’s ticket.
Similarly, the Ward Women Leader, Hajia Hafsat Ajisafe, praised Akogun’s excellent attitude and long-standing respect for elders.
She highlighted his history of pioneering local projects even within his limited personal resources, asserting that Akogun would be a fearless advocate for the rights of the people in the hallowed chambers.
Following the formal declaration, Akogun held strategic sessions with Oke-ode youth leaders, and women’s groups under the aegis of Abdulrasheed Akogun Forum, where he used the platform to share his vision for emancipating the people through legislative focus on education, youth empowerment, infrastructure, among others.
The event also featured the distribution of Ramadan Palliatives to party stakeholders, groups, a gesture many attendees described as a reflection of his consistent people’s focus approach.
