•• Lawmaker Hails President Tinubu’s Empathy

It was a gathering of intellectual and spiritual heavyweights on Wednesday as the Ilorin Emirate Students Union National Headquarters (IESU_NHQ) hosted its annual Ramadan Public Lecture.
The event, held at the Silver Gate Hotel, Ilorin was organized in honour of the Senator representing Kwara Central and Turaki Ngeri of Ilorin, Senator Saliu Mustapha.
The lecture, themed “Leadership as Amana (Trust) in Islam,” served as a platform for prominent figures in the Emirate to celebrate the Senator’s contributions to human capital development and his exemplary leadership style.
Delivering the Ramadan topic, the guest Lecturer, Sheikh Abdur-raheem Abdullahi Salaty Al-Baarizy delivered a soul-stirring sermon using Senator Saliu Mustapha as a living example of Islamic leadership principles.

“A good leader must have patience and must share in the issues and problems of those he leads. Even in his happy moments, he must know how to console and provide solutions” the speaker said.
He added that these qualities seen in Senator Mustapha are the real definition of good leadership.
On his part, IESU_NHQ National President, Sheikh Zulukarnain Abdulrahman (AL-OPOLOWY) lauded Senator Saliu Mustapha for his all time support and commitment to the progress and development of the Emirate.

He said his many contributions to the association remain integral part of what it is today while reassuring the lawmaker of their continuous loyalty and support.
The event also featured praises from the Emirate’s elite, who described the Senator as a work in progress who is successfully mirroring the legacies of the city’s founding fathers.
Prof. Shuaib Ologele Assayouti of Al-Hikmah University, commended the Senator for his unprecedented investment in education.

“Senator Saliu Mustapha has facilitated admissions and scholarships for no fewer than 300 students this year, costing about ₦300 million, in addition to the 200 students he sponsored last year. This is the best human capital development in the history of the Emirate.” He added.
On his part, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik (ACG Rtd), IEDPU President said the Emirate has continue to build successful and formidable young people under Senator Mustapha’s leadership.

“We see things that motivate us for a better future for Kwara and we’ll continue to stand on his mandate” He said.
Speaking with Newsmen shortly after the event, Senator Saliu Mustapha expressed his profound gratitude to the student body for their resilience and focus.
When asked about the qualities of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) that distinguish him for a second term, the Senator pointed to empathy as the defining factor.
“Empathy is the most important thing. Any leader who does not have empathy is not a leader worthy of following. What is keeping our President going and what has assured him of a second term is the deep empathy he has for his followers.
