The political atmosphere in Kwara State is gradually shaping toward a new direction, and across the sixteen Local Government Areas of Kwara South, a clear voice is beginning to emerge. That voice is the collective decision of the Kwara South Progressives to openly declare their support for Prof. Wale Sulaiman CON to contest for the governorship of Kwara State.
According to the leadership of the group, the decision was not made in haste. It followed wide consultations, deep reflection, and careful observation of the leadership qualities required to move Kwara State to the next level.
Speaking on behalf of the movement, the Chairman of Kwara South Progressives, Prince Tajudeen Amzat, stated that the group believes the time has come for a leader whose capacity, integrity, and global exposure can translate into real development for the state.
He noted that Prof. Wale Sulaiman CON has consistently demonstrated uncommon commitment to human capital development, healthcare advancement, youth empowerment, and community service even without occupying political office. According to him, these are the qualities that distinguish true leadership from mere political ambition.
The Secretary of the group, Ajiboye Sodiq, emphasized that the support from Kwara South Progressives goes beyond statements. He revealed that the entire political and grassroots structures of the group across the sixteen Local Government Areas in Kwara South are fully aligned with the aspiration of Prof. Wale Sulaiman CON.
He further stated that the organization is prepared to mobilize massively not only within Kwara South but across the entire state to ensure that the vision represented by Prof. Wale Sulaiman CON becomes a reality.
Adding to the declaration, the Public Relations Officer of the group, Aremu Oluwaseun, explained that many Kwarans are beginning to realize that leadership should be about competence, character, and proven service to humanity.
According to him, Prof. Wale Sulaiman CON has already paid his price through years of sacrifice, professional excellence, and philanthropic interventions that have touched countless lives across communities. He stressed that such a man should not be persuaded to serve; rather, the people should be the ones inviting him to lead.
The Kwara South Progressives therefore called on stakeholders, youths, community leaders, and political actors across the state to look beyond sentiment and begin to focus on the kind of leadership that can position Kwara for sustainable growth and global relevance.
With structures firmly established across the sixteen Local Government Areas and a growing network of supporters throughout the state, the group reaffirmed that it is fully prepared to mobilize its strength and grassroots influence to support the emergence of Prof. Wale Sulaiman CON as the next Governor of Kwara State.
For the Kwara South Progressives, this is more than politics. It is about the future of Kwara State and the conviction that the state deserves leadership built on competence, compassion, and credibility.
