•• Says He’s the Perfect Bridge Between Tinubu’s Reforms and Grassroots Development

The race for the 2027 Kwara State Governorship gained significant momentum on Monday as the Renewed Hope Youth Alliance (RHYA) officially called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider Engr. Sunday Adebayo Babalola as its standard-bearer.
At a World Press conference held in Ilorin, the National Coordinator of the RHYA, Amb. Israel Akinola, described Engr. Babalola as a rare blend of technocratic competence and grassroots compassion whose leadership style perfectly aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s #RenewedHope agenda.
The Alliance emphasized that Kwara State requires a leader with deep economic foresight and managerial discipline to translate federal reforms into local prosperity.
Engr. Babalola, a distinguished expert in the oil and gas industry, was lauded for his exceptional ability to manage complex systems and build institutions.
The group argued that his professional background makes him uniquely qualified to attract investment and drive infrastructural growth in the state.
Beyond his professional accolades, RHYA highlighted the staggering humanitarian impact of the Bayo and Bunmi Babalola Foundation spanning through commitment to education, healthcare, and small business empowerment.
The group also cited his extensive scholarship schemes for disadvantaged students and the total renovation of school facilities and financial assistance & relief for vulnerable families and young entrepreneurs during economic transitions.
“Engr. Babalola has demonstrated that leadership is ultimately about service. His consistent track record of spending over a billion naira to lift others proves he understands the needs of ordinary citizens,” Amb. Akinola stated.
RHYA, a prominent pro-Tinubu support group, argued that the success of the President’s bold economic reforms depends on having competent governors at the subnational level, maintaining that Engr. Babalola’s policy ideas ranging from youth leadership development to investment promotion offer a “forward-looking roadmap” that would ensure Kwara State remains a frontline beneficiary of the federal government’s developmental policies.
In a formal appeal, they urged the APC National Leadership and the Kwara State APC Executive Council to give favorable and serious consideration to Babalola’s candidacy.
“This call is not based on sentiment, but on an objective assessment of capacity. We must choose competence; we must choose vision. Engr. Sunday Babalola represents that leadership,” they said.
