
The Igbomina Owo Ni E Je Book Launch Contact and Mobilization Committee recently paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Himah University, Prof. Abdullateef Folorunsho Oladimeji, to formally present an invitation to the forthcoming launch of the book Igbomina Owo Ni E Je: From Imperialism to Migration.
The highly anticipated launch event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC), Ajase-Ipo.
The committee was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor alongside other principal officers of the university. In his remarks, Prof. Oladimeji commended the author for undertaking what he described as a painstaking research effort that carefully documents the migratory history, industrious spirit, and cultural heritage of the Igbomina people. He described the book as a remarkable scholarly work that vividly captures the identity and historical narrative of Igbomina land.


Speaking on behalf of the committee, the Chairman, Barr. Teju Oguntoye, expressed appreciation for the moral support and intellectual contributions of the founder of the university, Alhaji Abdulraheem Amoo Oladimeji, OFR, FNAEAP, who contributed a compelling tribute to the publication. According to him, the respected elder statesman has remained a strong source of inspiration for the development and cultural advancement of Igbomina land.
Barr. Oguntoye also acknowledged the invaluable support of the Vice-Chancellor, noting that his wise counsel and encouragement have significantly contributed to the progress and successful completion of the book project.
The author of the book, Prof. Emmanuel Olaniyi Ibiloye, expressed his gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for receiving the delegation and for reaffirming his support for the forthcoming launch event.
Other members of the delegation included Ambassador Foluke Ajide, Comrade Ololade Olaolu Emmanuel, Dr. Hafsat Omolola Olawuyi, and Barrister Jacob Ayanda.
The visit formed part of the committee’s ongoing engagements aimed at mobilizing institutional and community support ahead of the official unveiling of the book. The launch is expected to attract scholars, cultural leaders, and stakeholders from across Igbomina land and beyond.
