Jamaldeeen Katibi Emerges Overall Winner at MSG Needy Care Foundation Qur’anic Competition

The MSG Needy Care Foundation on Sunday concluded the grand finale of its Annual Qur’anic Competition drawing participants from different Islamic colleges (Madrasat) across Kwara State.

The event held at the IEDPU National Secretariat Hall, Gerin Alimi which brought together scholars, students, and community leaders, saw Jamaldeen Katibi of Abu Haruna Mahdu Katibi emerge as the overall best student, while Aisha Na Allah secured the position of 1st Runner Up after a series of rigorous recitations.

Delivering her opening remarks, the Coordinator and Founder of the Foundation, Hajia Ramat Lawal, expressed profound gratitude to the Emir of Ilorin, HRH Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari for his fatherly guidance and support for the foundation’s humanitarian projects.

Hajia Lawal used the platform to highlight the foundation’s extensive reach in Kwara State, emphasizing that their mission extends far beyond spiritual competitions.

“MSG Needy Care Foundation is a non-governmental organization dedicated to sponsoring the underprivileged from the little we have”  She said.

She noted that across Ilorin and Kwara State, the foundation have successfully executed projects involving JAMB and WAEC sponsorships, school fee interventions, and support for widows and aged women.

“Today is the final day of our Qur’anic program, where we reward excellence, but it is also a reminder to those who did not win today to put in more effort for our upcoming programs, she added while admonishing participants.

The competition featured participants from several renowned Madrasats, including Darul Rahmah, Nurul hudā, Markaz Dr Aiman, Markaz dhikrullahi, Haruna Rosheed Darul Falah, and Abu Haruna Mahdu Katibi.

The technical quality of the recitations was evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, including: Imam Mustapha, Ustaz Abdulfatai Katibi, Ustaz Haroon Bolakale, and Ustaz Kamaldeen Alaya.

One of the standout moments of the day was the powerful recitation by participant Mustapha Lukman, which drew admiration from the cross-section of Islamic scholars present.

9japarrot reports that the foundation reaffirmed its commitment to “Giving Hope to the Hopeless” through its multi-faceted empowerment schemes, including cash grants for youth and food reliance programs for the vulnerable.

The successful conclusion of the Qur’anic competition adds another milestone to the foundation’s efforts in promoting religious education alongside social welfare across the State.
