
The National Convention Central Coordination Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially announced the appointment of Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) as member of the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee for the party’s upcoming 2026 National Convention.
The appointment was contained in a published supplementary membership list for various Sub- committees, carefully constituted to facilitate the planning and successful conduct of the convention, which is scheduled to take place from March 25 to 28, 2026 in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to a statement signed by the Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency, Mai Mala Bumi (CON), who is Secretary to the National Convention Central Coordination Committee, the Sub-committees comprise eminent party leaders and stakeholders drawn from across the country. The members are expected to work in close synergy with the central committee to ensure effective organization and seamless coordination of all activities leading to the national gathering.
Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, having served as Assistant Director of the Media & Publicity Directorate during the 2023 Presidential Campaign that produced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President and Commander-in-Chief of the armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria brings a wealth of experience to this role.
As a Fellow of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Otunba Ajiboye’s inclusion is equally seen as a strategic move to bolster the party’s communication machinery.
Members of the Committee are expected to coordinate media coverage and public engagement for the convention; ensure transparent communication between the party and the general public; and work closely with the National Convention Secretariat to execute respective mandates within provided guidelines amongst others.
The 2026 National Convention is a pivotal event for the APC as it will see the election of a new crop of national officers to lead the party into the next political cycle.
With the Convention dates drawing near, the party has ramped up preparations to ensure a credible and hitch-free exercise.
