Completing his consultative sweep across the federal constituency, leading APC aspirant Hon. Gbenga Oyekunle Power hosted stakeholders from Ifelodun Local Government Area on Wednesday to iftar/Stakeholders engagement.
Following successful engagements in Offa and Oyun, the final leg of the tour at the Igbomina House, Ganmo, solidified the aspirant’s standing as a formidable contender for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency seat.
The gathering, officiated by renowned broadcaster Olaniyi Aweda Jigin, brought together the “creme de la creme” of Ifelodun’s political and traditional leadership.
The gathering had prominent stakeholders in attendance including Elese of Igbaja, HRH Oba Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Awuni Babalola ArepovIII, Ifelodun LG Vice Chairperson, Hon. Nike Ajibola, Omo Ibile Igbomina National President, Sir Bisi Fakayode, Elder Jimoh Garba, Speaker Legislative Council, Hon Jide Asonibare Former TIC Chairman Ifelodun LG, Alhaja Atunse Barakat, Former Ifelodun Chairman, Dr Babatunde Salami, Elder Oyin Zubair, Barrister Hassan Garba, Omo Ibile Igbomina Legal Adviser, Chief Peter Olorunnisola SAN, APC party executives, Ward Chairmen, Ward Councilors, among others.
Addressing party faithful and ward executives at the gathering, Hon. Gbenga Power noted that while he has contested in previous cycles without a major breakthrough, his passion for the people remains undeterred.
“I have contested over the years, and though the breakthrough hasn’t come yet, it has never weakened my passion to serve” He said.
He added that his consistency is not a sign of desperation, but a proof of his loyalty to Ifelodun.
“I am here to reinforce that commitment and strictly protect your interests when elected.” Hon. Gbenga Power declared.
The event received a major boost from the Elese of Igbaja, HRH Oba Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Awuni Babalola Arepo III who praised the aspirant’s unwavering dedication to the development of the senatorial district and the state at large.
“His continuous interest in representing the people shows a deep-seated love for service,” said the monarch.
The revered monarch added that the aspirant is a true son of the soil who has proven his loyalty over the years urging all stakeholders to rally around his ambition.
On her part, Hon. Nike Ajibola, Vice Chairperson, Ifelodun LG lauded his qualities as an exemplary personality, offering sincere prayers for the actualization of his goal.
A Former TIC Chairman, Hon. Prince Jide Asonibare commended his long-lasting philanthropic gestures, stating that he has all it takes to represent the constituency if given the platform.
On his part, Dr. Babatunde Salami, a Former Ifelodun Chairman encouraged the aspirant to keep canvassing, noting that his grassroots reach-out strategy is the best approach towards the actualization of his ambition.
Stakeholders including Chief Peter Olorunnisola (SAN), alongside Elder Oyin Zubair and Barrister Hassan Garba, urged party members to consider the indelible marks of the aspirant’s interventions across various communities, noting that even without occupying any political office he remain consistent in given back to the community.
In a touching interlude, the gathering observed a minute of silence in honor of the deceased mother of the Ifelodun LG Chairman, Haji Femi Yusuf, with stakeholders offering prayers for her eternal rest.

Having now secured the buy in of key actors in Offa, Oyun, and Ifelodun, the aspirant has demonstrated a unified front across the three local governments that constitute the federal constituency.
