Kwara Govt Installs New Olora of Ora, Tasks Mornach on Community Unity

•• Says Staff of Office a Symbol of Responsibility, Not Just Authority

The Kwara State Government has appointed Oba Riliwan Olawale Aremu Yekinni as the new Olora of Ora in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state as it tasks him to view his appointment as a ‘call to work’.

Speaking at the official presentation of the Staff of Office to the new monarch at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, the state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, told the monarch that his appointment at this critical period called for seriousness.

Governor AbdulRazaq charged the new Olora to see his appointment as a call to tackle security challenges in the Local Government and promote unity, fairness and justice among his subjects.

This development was confirmed in a statement issued by Oba Azeez, Press Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development and made available to 9japarrot media.

Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon Abubakar Abdullahi Bata, reminded the new Olora that his Staff of Office is not just a symbol of authority but a reminder of the expectations of his subjects.

The Governor therefore, advised him to work closely with government at all levels to advance development projects in Ora community.

He also reminded him that his wealth of experience, wisdom and dedication are vitals in steering the community towards greater prosperity.

Mallam AbdulRazaq further emphasized the unwavering commitment of his government to strengthening traditional institutions and promoting inclusive governance at all levels.

According to him,” Our Monarchs are custodians of culture, agents of unity, and strategic partners in grassroots security, community development, and social cohesion.

“This administration recognizes your indispensable role and will continue to provide an enabling environment for you to thrive and to serve your people effectively.”

He also acknowledged the roles played by the Ifelodun Traditional Council, the Local Government and other stakeholders in ensuring smooth transition, saying that the efforts had strengthened confidence in the traditional system and demonstrated exemplary leadership.

In his remarks, a member of the State House of Assembly representing Share/Oke-Ode constituency, Hon Rasaq Owolabi, congratulated the new monarch and advised him to work towards uniting the community members.

He also advised the new Olora to join hands with the government towards combating security challenging in the area by providing necessary information to the government at all times.

Also speaking, the Council Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Hadji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, told the new monarch that his appointment Is not by chance but a clear reflection of trust and confidence that both government and his subjects had in his leadership and capacity to lead Ora at this critical time.

The Council boss reminded him that his appointment at this critical period is a call to ‘big responsibility ‘, he therefore enjoined him to work closely with government and other stakeholders in his domains to ensure peace and stability.

He also appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his firm commitment to due process, fairness and transparency in the selection and appointment of traditional rulers, noting that it had helped to build trust in traditional institution.

In attendance at the event includes; Olupako of Share, HRH Oba Haruna Olawale Suleiman Usman-Adegbite, Community Leaders and other key stakeholders from the Local Government.
