Hon. Olasumbo Florence Oyeyemi Declares for House of Reps Seat to Represent Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency

••• Pledges to Amplify Grassroots Voices at the National Assembly

Former Kwara Commissioner for Finance and Planning, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Olasumbo Florence Oyeyemi has officially declared her intention to represent the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives come 2027 under the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) party.

The official declaration held at the Omu-Aran City Hall Complex on Friday drew large numbers of party faithful, traditional leaders, and high-ranking APC stakeholders in attendance.

9japarrot reports that the venue was filled to capacity, reflecting the deep-rooted grassroots connection the aspirant has maintained throughout her years of public service.

In her declaration speech, Hon. Oyeyemi emphasized that her candidacy is a bridge between current challenges and a future of shared prosperity. Drawing from her experience as a former cabinet member and the APC State Spokesperson during the 2023 elections, she outlined a clear, results-oriented agenda.

“This aspiration is not about me alone it is about all of us. It is our collective project,” she said.

“I will not only stand for you, I will stand with you. I will not only speak for you, I will amplify your voices at the national level.” she added.

She highlighted her key agenda in Women’s Inclusion & Economic Independence through facilitating financial support for market women and targeted medical/social interventions for widows and the vulnerable.

Speaking on Youth Digital Literacy, she noted that she’ll come up with Training programs in Cyber Security, Data Science, AI, and Software Development to position local youth for global opportunities.

On Constituency Security Vanguard, she vowed to facilitate a community-based security structure to complement national agencies and ensure peace for farmers and traders.

She added that she’ll establish an institute for artisan upskilling and sustainable livelihoods while also creating synergy with the State and Federal health ministries to strengthen maternal and reproductive health education across all four local governments.

The event was graced by Hon. Dr. Angel Adelaja-Kuye, Special Adviser on Agriculture to the Ogun State Governor and a prominent leader of the City Boys Movement who described Hon. Oyeyemi as a woman of immense pedigree and heart.

“She has the education, she has the experience, but most importantly, she has the heart. I am here all the way from Ogun State because she is a woman of talk and action—a woman who is like ten men,” She added.

Earlier in his goodwill message, Prominent Stakeholder Prince Shuaib Olanrewaju (SOFAB) also weighed in, urging other aspirants from the same local government to unite behind Hon. Oyeyemi’s candidacy.

He cited her “superlative performance” as Commissioner as proof that she is the most serious and competent choice for the seat.

Other leaders, including Are Olushola Kabiesi and Hon. Sunday Owolabi, spoke on the need to end the marginalization of certain areas within the constituency. They urged the party to embrace the spirit of “Lare Bure” (fairness in representation), ensuring that every local government feels a sense of belonging in the selection of a representative.
