Stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Moro Local Government has formally endorsed the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, as their preferred candidate for the 2027 Governorship election.
In a massive show of force that shut down the ancient town of Bode-Saadu, thousands of supporters from all 17 wards of the local government gathered at the Council Headquarters for a procession and endorsement rally that also reaffirmed their total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a press statement read by elder statesman Hon. Ishola Ajibade prior to rally procession, the stakeholders noted that their decision was rooted in the need to sustain the developmental strides of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The group emphasized that Kwara North, which has not held the governorship since 1999, deserves the seat in 2027, and identified Rt. Hon. Danladi as the most prepared candidate to bridge the gap.
“Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi has proven leadership excellence, leading a productive and rancor-free parliament for eight years. His strong grassroots connection and role as Chairman of the Nigerian Conference of APC Speakers positioned him as the best choice to sustain the Governor’s legacy,” said the stakeholders.
9japarrot reports that the rally saw an unprecedented turnout of party leadership and stalwarts including; Alhaja Chief (Mrs.) Mariam Abdulwasiu Omotayo (Moro LG Chairperson) and her Team Agbeke supporters, Hon. Chief Lawal Ayanshola Soliu (Member representing Ipaye/Oloru/Malete) and his Team LAS delegates, Hon. Abdulraheem Medinat Motunrayo (Member representing Lanwa/Ejidongari) and her Team Awele, Hon. Nura Muhammed (Moro LG Council Secretary), Hon. Fatimah Asabe Jiyah (Development Officer for Pategi LG) among others showing cross-boundary solidarity from the Kwara North axis.
Beyond the governorship race, the Moro APC leadership used the platform to send a clear message to the national stage, crediting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda for stabilizing the nation and pledged to deliver a landslide victory for his second term in the local government.
“Governor AbdulRazaq is building Kwara, and President Tinubu is rebuilding Nigeria. We believe Engr. Yakubu Danladi possesses the dynamism and courage to align these forces for the benefit of Moro and the entire state,” the statement added.
Earlier in her opening remarks, Alhaja Chief (Mrs.) Mariam Abdulwasiu Omotayo, Moro LG Chairperson noted that Stakeholders without any interference are ready to work for the actualization of Salihu Yakubu Danladi’s gubernatorial bid.
She added that the Baruten born politician remains the only formidable candidate who can take over from Gov AbdulRazaq to continue his good work and sustain his legacy.
