APC Kwara State Governorship Aspirant and chieftain, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON, has commiserated with the people of Omugo, Oro-Ago, and Okedaba communities following the recent attacks by suspected bandits and the tragic kidnapping of residents in the affected areas.
In a statement reacting to the incident, Prof. Sulaiman described the attack as senseless, criminal, and deeply troubling, particularly the abduction of eight worshippers at the ECWA Church in Omugo on March 22, 2026.
He expressed concern over the safety of residents in the affected communities and condemned the violent acts, which he said threaten the peace and security of rural communities.
The APC chieftain also noted that the attacks did not only occur in Omugo but were followed by similar incidents in Oro-Ago and Okedaba communities a few days after the initial kidnapping, thereby heightening fears among residents.
Prof. Sulaiman urged members of the communities to remain vigilant and cooperate closely with security agencies by providing credible intelligence that could assist law enforcement authorities in tracking down the perpetrators and securing the safe release of those kidnapped.
While sympathizing with the families of the victims and the affected communities, he acknowledged the ongoing efforts of the Kwara State Government under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, in tackling security challenges across the state.
He expressed confidence that with sustained collaboration between government, security agencies, and community members, the perpetrators of the attacks would be brought to justice and peace restored to the affected areas.
Prof. Sulaiman also prayed for the safe return of the abducted victims and urged residents to remain united and resilient in the face of the unfortunate development.
