••• Endorses Kwara Central Aspirant, Ambassador Yahaya Seriki for Governor

A frontline gubernatorial aspirant from Kwara North, Prince Haliru Dantsoho Mahmud (the Dan’iyan Kaiama) has officially withdrawn his candidacy.
This development was confirmed in a press briefing held on Tuesday, where Prince Dantsoho declared that after extensive consultations, he has decided to sacrifice his personal ambition to support Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari, MFR (an aspirant from Kwara Central Senatorial district) describing him as the “Unifier” Kwara needs at this critical junction.
In his address, Prince Dantsoho acknowledge the long-standing agitation for a Kwara North governor, noting that the district has remained a loyal pillar of the APC since 1999 without holding the executive seat. While he was a champion of this “Kwara North Lead” movement, he explained that the current political climate requires a bridge-builder who can unite all three senatorial districts.
He was unequivocal in his praise for Ambassador Seriki, citing his loyalty to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
He highlighted Seriki’s recent N15,000,000 donation for a kidney patient in Kaiama as proof that his heart is with the people of Kwara North.
According to him, Seriki’s track record in grassroots development and job creation distinguished him from all other aspirants.
His ability to heal divisions and strengthen bonds across the State of Harmony is worthy of emulation and commendation.
“My decision is not a retreat, it is a rallying call. It is not weakness, it is wisdom,” the Kwara North born politician said.
“Ambassador Seriki is one of us, and I believe that one of us is better than none of us.” He added.
Addressing his primary constituency, the Dan’iyan Kaiama assured the people of Kwara North that this was not a betrayal of their cause. He maintained that the district’s time is deferred, not denied and that a unified APC under Seriki represents the best path toward inclusive growth for all districts.
He also used the platform to commend President Tinubu, Governor AbdulRazaq and the security hierarchy including the IGP, Mr. Olatunji Disu for their swift response to the tragic Woro massacre. He called for the expedited rescue of abducted victims, noting that true leadership is measured in compassion.
9japarrot reports that this endorsement is a major strategic win for Ambassador Yahaya Seriki. By securing the support of a heavyweight like the Dan’iyan Kaiama, Seriki has effectively penetrated the Kwara North voting bloc.
According to political observers this move suggests a consolidating “Unity Ticket” within the APC, potentially aimed at narrowing the field to avoid a fractured primary.
