Omu-Aran Rallies Behind Tinubu, AbdulRazaq, Danladi, APC Candidates Ahead of 2027

Residents, political leaders, and party elders in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, turned out in large numbers on Saturday for an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholder engagement to endorse the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party’s complete ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The political gathering, tagged “Omu-Aran Ìwájù LÁ ÑLÒ: Moving Forward,” organized by party leaders across Wards 1, 2, and 3 took place at Zone T-Junction, Omu-Aran.

At the event, stakeholders affirmed their support for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s senatorial candidacy, the Kwara APC governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, Kwara South Senatorial candidate, Prince Lekan Adewoye (LAF), Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency candidate, Yeye Florence Olasumbo Oyeyemi, and Irepodun House of Assembly candidate, Hon. Olayinka Fafoluyi Solace.

Addressing the gathering, the Executive Chairman of Irepodun Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulazeez Tinuola Yakub in his remarks urged party supporters to remain steadfast, describing the meeting as a prelude to the official campaign flag-off.

Corroborating his stance, former Irepodun Local Government Chairman, Hon. Muyiwa Oladipo (Kanu) stated that the selection of candidates such as Prince Lekan Adewoye and Yeye Florence Olasumbo Oyeyemi reflects APC’s commitment to internal equity and fair power distribution across wards and local government areas.

“Omu-Aran community and Irepodun Local Government Area have previously produced members of the House of Representatives in Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola, the late Hon. Funke Adedoyin, and Hon. Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin. That is why it is now the turn of Oke-Ero Local Government to produce the House of Reps candidate, while the Kwara South Senatorial candidate comes from the Igbomina axis in the person of Hon. Lekan Adewoye,” Oladipo explained.

Oladipo added that since he alongside his principal, Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola left the People’s Democratic Party in Omu-Aran, the party has been rendered to nothing and has no stance to compete APC in the forthcoming general election.

On his part, Former House of Representatives member, Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola assured the party’s flagbearers of total support from Omu-Aran, declaring that the high turnout demonstrated the community’s backing of the APC.

“There’s nothing to worry about because the opposition have no place in Omu-Aran, all our candidates should be rest assured that we’ll deliver 100 percent for our party, APC in the forthcoming general election” He added.

In his address, Kwara South Senatorial candidate Prince Lekan Adewoye promised inclusive representation and good governance, while contrasting the current administration’s track record with the 16-year rule of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The event was attended by top government officials and party chieftains, including the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Eyiwumi Muka Aramide (Muka Ray), Kwara State Commissioner for Communication, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju, and former TIC chairmen, alongside women and youth groups.
