The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has called on security agencies to release CCTV footage from a restaurant in Ado-Ekiti following an attack on members of his team.
Sowore made the demand in a post on Sunday, November 1, 2026, while disclosing that two mobile devices allegedly stolen during the attack on Friday, October 30, had been traced to locations within the Ekiti State capital.
According to him, one of the phones was traced to a location directly opposite the Ekiti State Governor’s Office, while the second device was reportedly located opposite Fajuyi Park in Ado-Ekiti.
He described the reported locations as disturbing and questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Sowore also accused the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) of withholding CCTV footage allegedly seized from Tawakalitu Restaurant, where the attack reportedly took place.
He urged both security agencies to make the footage public, insisting that it could help clarify what happened during the incident.
“Release the CCTV footage now,” Sowore demanded.
The claims regarding the tracking locations and the handling of the CCTV footage were made by Sowore in his social media post.
